
Several Oklahoma stars are among the first group of performers announced today for the 45th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards.
Host Reba McEntire, who grew up in Chockie; Brooks & Dunn, which includes former Tulsan Ronnie Dunn; and Carrie Underwood, who was bred in Checotah, will be performing at the April 18 awards show.
Blake Shelton, who was born in Ada and lives in Tishomingo, and Trace Adkins will perform together; the stars last week scored a No. 1 hit with their duet “Hillbilly Bone,” which is nominated for an ACM trophy.
Other performers announced today for the awards show are Jason Aldean, Tim McGraw, Lady Antebellum and Kenny Chesney.
The ACM Awards will broadcast live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 18 on CBS.
Reba McEntire will return to host the Academy of Country Music Awards for a record 12th time. She is nominated for top female vocalist of the year. McEntire has won 12 Academy of Country Music Awards.
